An opportunity for you to do something different. Which involves longer exposure photography, having a tripod may be beneficial.
The club’s annual print competition, you can submit up to four monochrome prints and up to four colour prints. These need to be handed to Stephen Dean on or before 24th September
This is the first leg of the “Interclub Competition” that the club has entered. Five of our images will be independently judged against the other entries from 11 other clubs. The five PDIs include one meeting the set subject “Illusion of Scape” another on the topic “Portrait, People and Figure Studies” and the other three on general subjects. On this occasion the judging will be a Zoom type meeting, so we have secured the use of our usual room with the big screen so that we can enjoy it together. As this is our first time of entering, it will be useful to get a feeling for the competition and the standard of other clubs' entries. So as a result I've booked our meeting room at the Grange so that the club members will be able to watch the competition together and share their views. Our entries for this round are: In Bloom by Tony Walsh (Subject - Illusion of a scape) Viktoria by John Gardner (Theme - Portrait) Brew Time by Howard Tate (Open section) Plastering in style by Judith Macbeth (Open section) A flash of Orange by Miles Hand (Open Section)
Another opportunity for you to do something different; again, involving longer exposure photography so having a tripod would be beneficial and maybe a flash.
Batley Camera Club are hosting the competition this year at their venue: Batley Community Centre, WF17 5DH starting at 7:30pm. Your support would be very welcome and you will have the opportunity to meet other photographers from a different club.
Our very own Steve Springett, who has taken up residence in a van, is going to share images taken during his adventures and exploration of not only the UK, but places further afield. He will also be showing us some of his astrophotography images. This is a presentation you do not want to miss!
